5. Whataburger
In the beginning, Whataburger was all about its eponymous burger. The Whataburger cost only 25 cents back in 1950 and was larger than the burgers sold by its competitors. Nowadays, the Whataburger is still one of the most popular items on the menu.
If you don't customize it, this burger comes with a soft bun, a single beef patty, diced onions, lettuce, pickles, tomato, and mustard. You can add American cheese to the Whataburger, but you shouldn't get too adventurous with your customizations unless you know exactly what you're doing. Having mustard in the burger may go against how you usually order a burger, but it works amazingly well and has become the icon of the famous burger. However, for the mustard haters, proceed with caution.
