5. Onion Nuggets
Onion Nuggets were exactly what they sound like: fried onions that provided an alternative to French fries as a McDonald's side dish. You can think of them as another version of onion rings. Onion Nuggets were introduced in the late 1970s and were removed from the menu by the end of the decade, never to be seen or heard from again.
