Your favorite chili sauce or jalapeño poppers can trigger nasty gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and severe diarrhea. While studies show health benefits for longer life and a better immune system for spicy food lovers, a component called capsaicin in these foods is not friendly to a fragile gut. Thus, moderate consumption of spicy foods is recommended. But remember to do what you can in case of indigestion.
