12. Hypertension

Commercial peanut butter contains a ton of additives, and when eaten together, can increase your chances of coming down with hypertension. Many mainstream brands of peanut butters are loaded with added sugars, salt, and hydrogenated oils. This can potentially lead to hypertension if consumed in excess. Those with conditions such as diabetes should also be cautious of the sugar content in some of these mainstream brands of peanut butter.
