1. Non-Microwave Safe Utensils

Non-microwave safe utensils absorb heat generated by microwaves and can crack or melt. They may include glass, plastic, styrofoam, paper, and metal containers. Non-microwave safe plastic utensils can release too much BPA and phthalates that mess up our endocrine system when in direct contact with heat. Paper containers can burn, and metals do not allow microwaves to pass through. If labels of the utensil do not indicate "microwave safe", do not microwave it!
