Recall Details
Raleigh, N.C., May 2, 2026 — The a2 Milk Company has voluntarily recalled three specific batches of a2 Platinum Premium USA label infant formula 0–12 months because testing detected cereulide, a heat-stable toxin produced by Bacillus cereus, in the product. The toxin can cause rapid-onset vomiting and nausea and may lead to dehydration and more serious complications in infants; consumers should stop using the affected product immediately and do not feed it to infants.
The recall covers a2 Platinum Premium infant formula 0–12 months, milk‑based powder with iron, sold in 31.7 oz tins with the following lot code(s): 2210269454 (Use By 7/15/2026), 2210324609 (Use By 1/21/2027) and 2210321712 (Use By 1/15/2027). The product has been distributed nationally online and at select U.S. retailers, including the company website, Amazon and Meijer stores, and the affected tins have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025 (consumers should verify lot codes on the bottom of each tin); importation rights expired Dec. 31, 2025 and the product was discontinued and removed from sale prior to this recall.
Consumers who purchased any of the listed lot code(s) should dispose of the product or return it to the place of purchase for a refund or request a replacement. If an infant has consumed the product and shows symptoms such as vomiting, nausea or signs of dehydration, contact a health care provider immediately. To request a refund or report an adverse event, contact a2 Milk Company at 1‑844‑422‑6455, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. ET, or email [email protected]; consumers may also report illnesses to the FDA through MedWatch or the HHS SafetyReporting portal. If any contact information is missing or unclear on your purchase, check your retailer receipt or the company website for further instructions.
