  • Status: active

Minneapolis, Dec. 26, 2025 — Gold Star Distribution, Inc. has recalled all FDA‑regulated products stored at its Minneapolis facility after an FDA inspection found insanitary conditions, including rodent excreta, rodent urine and bird droppings that could have contaminated products with filth and harmful microorganisms. The contamination poses risks of bacterial infections such as Salmonella and other serious illnesses for vulnerable populations. Consumers and retailers should stop using and do not eat or use the affected products immediately.

Products covered by the recall include all drugs, medical devices, cosmetics, dietary supplements, and human and animal (pet) food products held at the Gold Star facility; the recall does not apply to frozen and refrigerated items shipped directly to retailers by manufacturers or distributors. Specific affected product names and lot code(s) are listed in the full Gold Star product list posted by the company and the FDA; affected items have been stored and sold from the Minneapolis facility and have been distributed to selected retailers listed by Gold Star and to online customers since at least Sept. 15, 2025. Consumers should consult the FDA.com and the Gold Star product list for product name and lot code(s) to determine whether purchases are included.

Consumers and retailers who purchased affected products should not return them to Gold Star but should destroy the products and verify destruction by providing a receipt to Gold Star at 1000 N. Humboldt Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55411; Gold Star will provide refunds upon request. For questions or to request a refund or replacement, contact Gold Star at 612‑617‑9800 or email [email protected]. Anyone who has experienced adverse health effects should contact their health care provider and report problems to FDA MedWatch online or by calling 1‑800‑332‑1088; pet owners with concerns should contact their veterinarian.
