Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — FROMI USA of New York, N.Y., has recalled Brie Royal Faucon 1 kg cheeses because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly, pregnant women and others with weakened immune systems; consumers should not eat the product and should stop using it immediately. No illnesses have been reported in the United States to date. The recall follows notification from the foreign manufacturer’s health authorities about potential contamination.
The recalled product is Brie Royal Faucon 1 kg, lot code(s): 615, packaged two units per case in wooden boxes; the cheese is made from pasteurized cow’s milk and may have been sold whole or cut into portions. The product has been distributed to Cheese Plate Park Slope LLC (400 7th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11215) and sold from July 24, 2025, through Aug. 13, 2025, online and at select U.S. retailers; consumers should check purchases against the lot code(s) and packaging information.
