Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — KALO Foods, LLC has recalled Single Slice Gluten Free Carrot Cake because the product contains undeclared soy, posing a risk of serious or life‑threatening allergic reaction to consumers with soy allergy or severe sensitivity; consumers should not eat the product and should stop using it immediately. The company says the packages are labeled Carrot Cake while the ingredient panel and UPC correspond to Chocolate Cake, creating the potential for inadvertent soy exposure. No illnesses have been reported to date.
The affected product is Single Slice Gluten Free Carrot Cake with lot code(s) corresponding to packages labeled with the Chocolate Cake ingredient panel and UPC 8 53407 00418 4. The items were distributed online and at select U.S. retailers, primarily in North Carolina and Virginia, and have been sold since Feb. 28, 2024 through Feb. 29, 2024 in clear plastic clamshells. Consumers should check the ingredient panel and UPC before consuming.
Consumers who purchased the recalled product are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund or to discard it immediately; they may request a refund or replacement from the retailer.
