Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Abbey Specialty Foods of Fairfield, N.J., has recalled two Wicklow Gold cheddar varieties because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a pathogen that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, older adults, pregnant people and others with weakened immune systems. Consumers are advised to stop using these products immediately and not to eat them.
The recall covers Wicklow Gold Cheddar Nettle & Chive 5.2 oz and Wicklow Gold Cheddar Tomato & Herb 5.2 oz, identified by lot code(s) 1113880 (batch 24192, UPC 797776045730) and 1113881 (batch 24175, UPC 797776045778), respectively, with sell-by date June 2, 2025. The products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Ohio and Colorado and have been sold since June 2, 2025.
Consumers who have these products should return them to the place of purchase for a full refund or dispose of them; alternatively, contact Abbey Specialty Foods to request a refund or replacement.
