Recall of Jose Madrid Salsa Chipotle Con Queso

Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Jose Madrid Salsa has issued a voluntary recall of its Chipotle Con Queso Salsa after the company found that Yellow 5 and Yellow 6 were present but not declared on the product label, creating a risk of allergic reactions that can be serious or life‑threatening for sensitive consumers; anyone who is allergic or sensitive to these food dyes should stop using the product immediately and not eat it. The company says no illnesses have been reported to date.

The recalled product is Jose Madrid Chipotle Con Queso Salsa, Net Wt. 13 oz., UPC 093662452935, in glass jars; affected lot code(s) stamped on the jar lids are 6012201 102327, 6012201 103027 and 6012201 111227. The product has been sold at holiday and market events in New York and North Carolina and has been sold since Nov. 7, 2024, online and at select U.S. retailers; consumers should compare the lot code(s) on their jars to the list above to determine whether their product is included in the recall.

Consumers who have the recalled jars and are allergic or sensitive to Yellow 5 and/or Yellow 6 should dispose of the product or return it to the place of purchase for a refund or replacement; if unsure, consumers should retain the jar and contact Jose Madrid Salsa for guidance.
