San Juan, P.R., Jan. 14, 2026 — Avole Inc. has recalled 7-ounce bags of Bacalaitos Criollos Codfish Frying Mix because the product may contain undeclared fish (Pollock), posing a risk of serious or life‑threatening allergic reactions to consumers with fish allergies. The recalled product is Bacalaitos Criollos Codfish Frying Mix, item number 310925, with lot code(s) marked by the Use By/Expiration date 06/2025 printed on the top right‑center of the back of the bag. The mix has been sold in Puerto Rico (online and at select U.S. retailers as applicable) and have been sold since Sept. 5, 2024; some expired packages are also currently in the market. No illnesses have been reported to date.
