Haifa Smoked Fish Recalls “Cold Smoked Salmon” and “Cold Smoked Seabass” Due to Possible Health Risk

Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Haifa Smoked Fish of Jamaica, N.Y., has recalled its “COLD SMOKED SALMON” 8 oz. (lot code(s) 219) and “COLD SMOKED SEABASS” 8 oz. (lot code(s) 212) because the products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause severe and sometimes fatal infections in young children, older adults, pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems. Consumers should stop using these products immediately and do not eat them.

The recalled items are vacuum packaged on paper board with flexible plastic and have been distributed nationwide through direct delivery to retail stores and distributors and sold online and at select U.S. retailers; they have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025. The contamination was identified after sampling and laboratory analysis by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets. No illnesses have been reported to date.
