Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — T.W. Garner Food Company has recalled select lots and sizes of Texas Pete® Habanero Buffalo Sauce and Texas Pete® Sweet CHAbanero/Sriracha Habanero Sauce because some bottles of Habanero Buffalo Sauce have been found to contain Sriracha Sauce with undeclared sulfites, posing a risk of serious or life‑threatening allergic reaction to people with sulfite sensitivity. Consumers who own the identified products should stop using them immediately and not eat the contents.
The recalled products include Texas Pete Habanero Buffalo Sauce (2 fl oz, UPC 0 75500 28125 9, lot code(s) BB120525; 12 fl oz, UPC 0 75500 10028 4, best used by 11 07 25) and Texas Pete Sweet CHAbanero/Sriracha Habanero Sauce (2 fl oz, UPC 0 75500 53125 5, lot code(s) BB 090427M and BB 082627M; 20 fl oz, UPC 0 75500 00530 5, best used by 08 02 27 F; 0.5 gallon, UPC 0 75500 00536 7, best used by 07 23 27 T 088224). The products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers and have been sold since Feb. 5, 2025, with distribution to retail stores and distribution centers in CA, CO, CT, IL, MA, NC, NJ, OH, VA and VT between Feb. 5, 2025 and March 26, 2025.
Consumers should dispose of the product or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund and may request a refund or replacement from the company.
