Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Friendly’s Ice Cream has voluntarily recalled a limited quantity of 48 fl. oz. ice cream because Cookies & Cream flavor containing soy and wheat was mistakenly packaged in Vanilla Bean cartons that do not declare those allergens, creating a risk of serious or life‑threatening allergic reactions for anyone with soy or wheat allergies; consumers should stop using the product immediately and not eat it. The company says 324 cartons are affected and no illnesses have been reported.
The recalled item is sold as Friendly’s Vanilla Bean, 48 fl. oz., with a Cookies & Cream lid and a best by date of 11/26/25 (best by date printed on the lid); lot code(s) are not specified. The product has been distributed through UNFI to retail stores in Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025 online and at select U.S. retailers. No other Friendly’s products are affected.
