Recall Details
Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods, LLC of Richmond, Va., has recalled four decorated pound cake products because they may contain an undeclared soy allergen, posing a risk of allergic reactions up to severe anaphylaxis; consumers with soy allergy should not eat these cakes and should stop using them immediately. The company says a cake releasing agent containing soy was used on the listed cakes only, and no other Ukrop’s products are affected.
The recalled items are: 8" Pound Cake with Buttercream Icing/Pink Roses (UPC 72252591452), 8" Pound Cake with Buttercream Icing/Red Roses (UPC 72252591456), 6" Pound Cake with Buttercream Icing/Red Roses (UPC 72252591820) and 6" Pound Cake with Buttercream Icing/Confetti (UPC 72252591849); lot code(s): Best By Date 12/15/2025 only. These cakes have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers, including Kroger Mid‑Atlantic (28 locations in Virginia and West Virginia) and Ukrop’s Market Hall in Richmond, Va., and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025 (consumers should check their purchase records and packaging for the Best By date and UPC to confirm impact).
Consumers who purchased the recalled cakes should return them to the retailer for a full refund or dispose of them; retailers have been notified and are removing affected product from shelves. For refunds, replacements or questions, contact Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods at [email protected] or call 804‑340‑3050, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. EST. If you have a soy allergy and experience symptoms after consuming the product, seek immediate medical attention.
