Gaws Gourmet Foods Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Sesame in Sandwiches

Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Gaw’s Gourmet Foods of Marysville, Mich., has recalled five deli and breakfast sandwich products because they may contain undeclared sesame, posing a risk of serious or life‑threatening allergic reactions to consumers with sesame allergy or sensitivity; consumers should stop using the products immediately and not eat them. The company has suspended production while the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the company investigate and verify corrective actions. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this issue.

The recall covers three 8" deli subs and two breakfast bagel sandwiches bearing the following product names and lot code(s): Gaw’s Deluxe Italian sub 12 oz, UPC 1725600910; Gaw’s Classic Italian sub 8 oz, UPC 1725600920; Gaw’s XL Ham & Cheese sub 8 oz, UPC 1725600925; Gaw’s Ham & Cheddar Bagel 6 oz, UPC 1725600500; and Gaw’s Salami & Cheese Bagel 6 oz, UPC 1725600501. The products have expiration dates marked 11-28 through 12-15 on the back of the clear plastic wrap and have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers and bars in southeast Michigan; they have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025 (consumers should verify specific purchase dates on packaging or with retailers).
