Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — New York Wholesale Group of Hicksville, N.Y., has recalled four Zaarah Herbals spice and herb powders because laboratory testing found elevated levels of lead and inorganic arsenic that present potential health risks, including developmental harm to fetuses and long‑term effects for adults. Consumers should stop using these products immediately and not eat them.
The recall covers Zaarah Herbals Bhringraj Powder (lot code(s): BJ 04), Gurmar Powder (lot code(s): GD 04), Vasaka Powder (lot code(s): VK 04) and Rasayan Churan (lot code(s): RY 04), all packaged in clear 100 g jars with gold lids; batch codes appear on the back panel. The products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and California and have been sold since Dec. 20, 2024 through Jan. 7, 2025.
Consumers should dispose of or return the recalled jars to the place of purchase for a full refund or request a replacement if available; if returning is not possible, contact the company for instructions and claim processing.
