Raaw Energy Expands Recall of Dog Food Because of Listeria Monocytogenes Health Risk
  • Company: Raaw Energy
  • Product: Dog Food
  • Status: active
  • Date: May 22, 2026
  • Reason: Due to possible Listeria contamination

Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Raaw Energy has issued a voluntary recall of multiple frozen dog food products produced between July 17, 2025, and December 23, 2025 (with an additional lot dated March 31, 2026) because of possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The company says not all lots have tested positive, but because some samples from the period have yielded the pathogen and not all products were tested, consumers should not eat, feed, sell, or use the affected products and should stop using them immediately to reduce the risk of illness or cross‑contamination. Raaw Energy has temporarily suspended production effective May 21, 2026, and is taking corrective actions to address sanitation and testing procedures.

The recall covers numerous product lines packaged in 2‑pound and 5‑pound clear plastic tubes sealed with metal clips and shipped frozen in cardboard boxes with white stick‑on labels. Notable product names and associated lot code(s) include: 4411 (Beef, Tripe, Duck Necks, and Chicken) — lot code(s) 9.9.2025, 9.23.2025, 10.14.2025, 10.15.2025 (5‑lb) and 9.9.2025, 9.23.2025, 10.15.2025 (2‑lb); Beef and Chicken — various lot code(s) including 12.16.2025 and 12.17.2025; Beef and Chicken Tripe Medley — lot code(s) including 12.23.25; Beef and Turkey Medley — lot code(s) including 12.23.2025 and 3.31.26; Chicken Medley, Salmon, Turkey Medley and many other flavors and dates listed by the firm. Products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers and have been sold since July 17, 2025; distribution reached customers in CT, DE, MA, MD, NH, NJ, NY, PA and VA.

Consumers should immediately dispose of affected products in a secure manner or return them to the place of purchase for a refund or replacement, and should thoroughly wash hands and clean any surfaces or utensils that contacted the product to prevent cross‑contamination. Customers with questions or who wish to request a refund or replacement should contact Raaw Energy at [email protected]; if you cannot reach the firm, check the company website or contact your local health department for guidance. People who believe they or their pets have become ill after exposure should seek medical or veterinary care; persons with compromised immune systems, pregnant women, young children and the elderly are at higher risk.
