Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Turkana Food Inc. has recalled Floria Dried Apricots because the product contains undeclared sulfites, posing a risk of serious allergic reactions to sulfite-sensitive consumers; anyone who has the product should stop using it immediately and not eat it. No illnesses have been confirmed as of June 12, 2025, and the company has ceased production and distribution while FDA and the company continue their investigation.
The recall covers 200-gram paper packages labeled Floria Dried Apricots with lot code(s) 440090478-15-333, UPC 2539560010 and expiration date 11/2026 printed on the bottom of the package. The recalled products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers in FL, KY, VA, NY, NJ, TN, MA, TX, IL, IN, MI, RI, PA, NC, MD, OH, AL, MO and CA and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025 (consumers should check packaging for the lot code(s) above to confirm whether their purchase is affected).
