Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Prairie Farms has recalled select Prairie Farms Gallon Fat Free Milk produced at its Dubuque, Iowa facility because some containers may contain food‑grade cleaning agents that could cause illness if consumed. Consumers who purchased the affected product should not eat it and should stop using it immediately; do not taste the product.
The recall covers Prairie Farms Gallon FAT FREE Milk with code date DEC08 and plant code PLT19‑145, lot code(s) from the DEC08 production run processed between 17:51 and 21:23; UPC 7273023117. The affected products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers (Woodman’s stores in Illinois and Wisconsin) and have been sold since Nov. 24, 2025. Prairie Farms says only a portion of the DEC08 run (approximately 320 gallons sold) is impacted and that all remaining affected product has been removed from store shelves.
Consumers may dispose of the product or return it to the place of purchase for a refund and may request a replacement by contacting Prairie Farms by email at [email protected]. Prairie Farms is working with regulatory authorities and retail partners on the investigation and advises consumers to check retailer notices or the company website for updates if they are unsure whether their purchase is affected.
