Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Tru Fru, LLC has announced a voluntary recall of specific Tru Fru freeze-dried strawberry products manufactured by Georgia Nut Company due to the potential presence of metal fragments that could cause laceration or internal injury; consumers should not eat the affected products and should stop using them immediately. The company says there have been no reported injuries to date and that the recall was initiated after a consumer reported the issue.
The recalled items include Tru Fru Freeze Dried Strawberries in Dark & White Chocolate (1.7 oz, 3.4 oz and 13 oz) and Tru Fru Freeze Dried Strawberries & Crème (3.4 oz); implicated lot code(s) appear as the first four digits or letters of the 10-digit manufacturing code on the package and include, for example, 514A–514D, 517B–517F, 518D–518F, 519A–519B, 520B–520F, 521A–521E, 522B–522E, 524A–524E, 525A–525E, 526A–526F, 529C–529E, 530C–530E, 531A–531E, and 532A–532B. These products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers, including but not limited to Albertson’s, CVS, Food Lion, H-E-B, Hungryroot, Ingles Markets, Kroger, Stew Leonard’s and Target, and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025.
Consumers who purchased an affected product should dispose of it or return it to the place of purchase for a refund or replacement; do not consume the product.
