CORRECTION: Foodynamics Recalls Raw Dog Barkery, BellePepper Cats, and Kanu Pets Brand Freeze-Dried Pet Treats Because Of Possible Salmonella Contamination

Wales, Wis., Oct. 9, 2025 — Foodynamics has recalled specific lots of freeze-dried pet treats sold under the Raw Dog Barkery, BellePepper Cats, Kanu Pets and What’s In the Bowl brands because FDA sampling has detected Salmonella contamination. Salmonella can make animals ill and poses a risk to humans who handle contaminated products; consumers should stop using the named products immediately and should not feed them to pets.

The recalled items include Whole Chicken Hearts (16 oz./1 lb.) with Use By/Lot code(s) 030527 sold as Raw Dog Barkery; Whole Chicken Hearts (3 oz. and 16 oz./1 lb.) with Use By/Lot code(s) 030527 sold as What’s In the Bowl; Freeze Dried Chicken Heart Slices (3 oz.) with Use By/Lot code(s) 031627 and sample treats (unlabeled 0.1 oz.) with Use By/Lot code(s) 121426, 011526 sold as BellePepper Cats; and Freeze Dried Chicken Heart Raw Treats (3 oz.) with Use By/Lot code(s) 031627 sold as Kanu Pets. Affected packages were shipped from Wisconsin via UPS and distributed to retailers and consumers in Wisconsin, New York and Florida and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025 (consumers should verify purchase dates with retailers if uncertain).

Consumers should either return recalled product to the place of purchase for a full refund or dispose of it so children, pets, and wildlife cannot access it; do not sell or donate the product. Wash and sanitize bowls, utensils, surfaces and hands after contact with the product.
