Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Infinite Herbs LLC is voluntarily recalling 2.5-ounce packages of fresh organic basil because the product has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, which can cause serious illness in young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems. Consumers who have the recalled basil should stop using it immediately and not eat it; if they or household members develop symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, they should seek medical attention.
The recall covers 2.5-ounce packages of fresh organic basil sold under the company’s name with lot code(s) 8 18042 02147 7 (UPC 8 18042 02147 7). The product has been sold online and at select U.S. retailers, including shipments to Trader Joe’s distribution centers in Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Virginia, and to two Fruit Center Marketplace stores in Massachusetts, and have been sold since Feb. 1, 2024 through Apr. 6, 2024. No other Infinite Herbs products, including non-organic basil or other package sizes of organic basil, are included in this recall.
Consumers should check refrigerators and freezers and dispose of or return the recalled product to the place of purchase for a refund or replacement.
