Oak Brook, Ill., Oct. 22, 2024 — TreeHouse Foods, Inc. has expanded a voluntary recall to include all frozen toaster waffles, Belgian waffles and pancake products produced at one facility and still within their shelf life because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause serious or fatal infections in pregnant women, newborns, elderly people and those with weakened immune systems; healthy individuals may experience fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Consumers should not eat these products and should stop using them immediately if they have any of the affected items in their freezers. Anyone who is ill after consuming the products should contact a healthcare provider.

The recalled products include numerous retail and private‑label brands and multiple package sizes; all affected lot code(s) begin with "2C." Representative U.S. brand listings include 365 Organic, Best Choice, Kodiak Cakes, Kroger, Publix, Target and Walmart private labels among many others; Best By or Best if Used by Dates range from Oct. 1, 2024, to as late as Apr. 11, 2026 for certain Kodiak Cakes items. These products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers and Canadian stores and have been sold since Oct. 1, 2024; consumers should check the Lot Code and Best By Date printed on the carton ends and UPC on the back of cartons to determine whether their item is included.

Consumers should either dispose of the recalled items or return them to the place of purchase for a refund or replacement, and retailers should follow their supplier return instructions. For questions or to request a refund or replacement, contact TreeHouse Foods at [email protected] or call 1‑800‑596‑2903, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. CST; if you cannot determine whether your product is covered, consult the retailer or visit the company recall page for photos and the full product list.
