Recall Details
Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Fresh Express has recalled a limited number of Gourmet Café Chicken Caesar Salad Bowls after receiving chicken ingredients from supplier BrucePac that have been recalled for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination; consumers should not eat the product and should stop using it immediately. The company says the fresh vegetable components are not affected, but because the chicken items present a potential health risk—particularly to pregnant women, older adults and people with weakened immune systems—affected products should be discarded or returned for refund or replacement.
The recalled item is Fresh Express Gourmet Café Chicken Caesar Salad Bowl (5.75 oz) with lot code(s) S281, S282, S285 and S288, UPC 071279565620, and use‑by dates 10/26/2024, 10/27/2024, 10/30/2024 and 11/2/2024. These salad bowls have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers in California, Louisiana, Texas and Washington and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025; Fresh Express says it is no longer using chicken from the impacted BrucePac facility until it has been inspected and approved by the USDA.
Consumers who purchased the specified salad bowls should discard them or return them to the place of purchase for a refund or replacement, and may request a refund by contacting the Fresh Express Consumer Response Center by email at [email protected] or by phone at (800) 242‑5472, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–7 p.m. Eastern time; if you require additional information not provided here, check retailer notices or the company website for updates.
