Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Al Amir Fresh Foods of Milwaukie, Ore., has recalled certain Al Amir brand hummus dips and Tzatziki Cucumber Yogurt because they contain undeclared sesame or milk, posing a risk of serious or life‑threatening allergic reactions to consumers with sesame or milk allergies; people with these allergies should not eat the products and should stop using them immediately. No illnesses or deaths have been reported to date. The recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the Oregon Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The affected products include Classic Hummus Creamy Garbanzo (lot code(s) corresponding to UPC 7 55134 12341 4, Best By dates up to and including 1/25/2024), Harissa Spicy Hummus With a Kick (lot code(s) corresponding to UPC 7 55134 12352 0, Best By dates up to and including 1/25/2024), Baba Ghannooj Grilled Eggplant (lot code(s) corresponding to UPC 7 55134 12342 1, Best By dates up to and including 1/25/2024), and Tzatziki Cucumber Yogurt (lot code(s) corresponding to UPC 8 55134 12351 3, Best By dates up to and including 1/25/2024). The products are sold in round clear plastic containers with clear lids and labels, have a 45‑day refrigerated shelf life, and have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers in Oregon and Washington since Jan. 17, 2024.
