Recall Details
Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Belgian Yummies of Fort Myers, Fla., has recalled specific Ice Cream Sandwiches and Gelato products because they contain undeclared allergens and color additives that pose a risk of serious or life‑threatening allergic reactions. Consumers who are allergic to wheat, soy, egg, coconut and/or peanuts, or who are sensitive to FD&C Yellow No. 5, should stop using these products immediately and not eat them.
The recall covers 4‑ounce Ice Cream Sandwiches and 5‑liter or 4.75‑liter Gelato containers bearing an expiration date of 08/31/2024. Affected products and lot code(s) include: Belgian Yummies Sandwiches (Vanilla, Chocolate, Raspberry, Salted Caramel, Key Lime, Peanut Butter) — lot code(s) stamped on the package; Sofra Sandwiches (Vanilla, Chocolate) — lot code(s) stamped on the package; Ria Sandwiches (Vanilla) — lot code(s) stamped on the package; Belgian Yummies Gelato, Strawberry — lot code(s) for 5‑liter gray containers; Belgian Yummies Gelato, Birthday Cake — lot code(s) for 5‑liter gray containers; Belgian Yummies Gelato, Horchata — lot code(s) for 4.75‑liter gray pans. The products have been distributed through wholesale orders in Florida and have been sold since Aug. 31, 2024; none were offered for retail sale. The company says the issue resulted from outdated labels used during packaging.
Consumers should dispose of or return the affected products to the wholesale distributor or contact Belgian Yummies to request a refund or replacement. For assistance, contact Belgian Yummies at 1‑239‑202‑8146, Monday–Thursday, 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. EST, or by email at [email protected].
