Salinas, Calif., Oct. 28, 2025 — Pacific International Marketing has recalled 474 cases of bulk Italian parsley after a sample tested positive for Salmonella, a pathogen that can cause fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and potentially severe invasive infections in young children, the elderly and immunocompromised people. Consumers who may have this product are advised to stop using it immediately and discard it or return it for a refund; do not eat the parsley.
The recalled items include bulk Italian Parsley sold in cases of 30 or 60 bunches (UPC 40695 80125, lot code(s) on the twist tie) and 24-count bunch bags (UPC 40695 80120, lot code(s) on the bag). The parsley was distributed to wholesalers in Arizona, California, Florida, Minnesota, Michigan, Georgia, Ohio and Nevada and have been sold since Sept. 22, 2025; the product’s indicated shelf life is 18 days from harvest (through Oct. 10, 2025). The company says the product should not be available to consumers except if it has been frozen.
Pacific is cooperating with the FDA and conducting an internal investigation. Businesses that bought directly from Pacific have been notified; consumers should dispose of or return product to the place of purchase for a full refund or contact Pacific for instructions or to request a refund or replacement by email at [email protected].
