Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Fabalish Inc. of Carlstadt, N.J., has recalled Kickin’ Carrot Falafel Bites because they may be contaminated with Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (E. coli) O121:H19, which can cause severe, sometimes life-threatening illness in young children, the elderly and immunocompromised people. Consumers are advised to stop using the product immediately and not eat it; if you or a household member develop symptoms such as severe stomach cramps, bloody diarrhea, fever, nausea or vomiting, seek medical attention and mention possible E. coli exposure. No illnesses have been reported to date.
The recalled item is labeled “Fabalish Kickin’ Carrot Falafel Bites,” packaged in a 10 oz orange box and bearing lot code(s) 260925 on the side flap. The product has been sold online and at select U.S. retailers in multiple states, including Florida, New York, Washington, Tennessee, California, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, New Hampshire, Virginia, Georgia, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah, Kansas, Texas, Massachusetts and Montana, and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025; consumers should check packaging for the lot code before use.
Consumers who purchased the affected product are instructed to dispose of it in the trash or return it for a full refund by sending a photo of the product and lot code to [email protected]; consumers may also request replacement or refund by contacting the company at (201) 942-2900, Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. EST.
