Con Yeager Spice Company Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Soy and Wheat in Trail Bologna Meat Processing Kits

Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Con Yeager Spice Company of Zelienople, Pa., has recalled its Trail Bologna Meat Processing Kits because the product may contain undeclared soy and wheat, posing a risk of serious or life‑threatening allergic reactions to people with soy or wheat allergies. Consumers are advised to stop using the kits immediately and not to eat the product if they have allergy or sensitivity to soy or wheat.

The recall covers Trail Bologna Meat Processing Kits sold in 17.88‑ounce pouches, UPC 797442404137, marked with lot code(s) B241851006 and a Best by Date of 2-08-27 printed on the front center of the pouch. The kits have been distributed nationwide online and at select U.S. retailers, through wholesale distribution, retail stores and mail order, and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025 (consumers should check pack dates and lot code(s) on purchased products).

Production of the product has been suspended while the company investigates and corrects the packaging error that led to Hickory Jerky kit contents being inadvertently placed in Trail Bologna pouches; no illnesses have been reported to date. Consumers who purchased Trail Bologna kits with lot code(s) B241851006 should dispose of or return the product for a refund or replacement and distributors should inspect cases of Hickory Jerky for mispacked Trail Bologna kits.
