Recall Details
Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Family Dollar, Inc. has initiated a voluntary retail-level recall of certain over-the-counter drugs, medical devices, cosmetics, dietary supplements, and human and pet food products after discovering evidence of rodents and rodent activity at its Distribution Center 202 in West Memphis, Arkansas; the primary risk is possible contamination with Salmonella, and consumers should stop using or eating any potentially affected products immediately.
The recall covers all affected product types with lot code(s) tied to items shipped from Distribution Center 202 to 404 Family Dollar stores; the affected items have been sold since Jan. 1, 2021. Products shipped directly to stores by manufacturers or distributors (including all frozen and refrigerated items) are not included. Affected items were sold online and at select U.S. retailers and at the named Family Dollar locations listed on the company’s affected-stores schedule; customers should consult that list to determine whether their store is included.
Family Dollar is asking stores to quarantine and discontinue sale of affected stock and is advising customers to return contaminated items to the store of purchase for a refund or replacement, with no receipt required, or to dispose of them if returning is impractical. Consumers with questions may contact Family Dollar Customer Service at 844-636-7687 (9 a.m.–5 p.m. EST) or email [email protected]; anyone who has experienced illness should contact their physician, and pet owners with concerns should contact a veterinarian. Adverse events or quality problems can be reported to FDA MedWatch online or by using the MedWatch form (request by calling 1-800-332-1088 or faxing to 1-800-FDA-0178).
