Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — F&S Fresh Foods of Sacramento, Calif., has recalled Whole Foods Market 15 oz. Organic Carrot Sticks and Whole Foods Market 15 oz. Organic Carrots & Celery because whole organic carrots supplied to F&S may be contaminated with Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (E. coli) O121:H19, which can cause severe, sometimes life-threatening illness; consumers should stop using these products immediately and do not eat them.
The recalled products are labeled as Whole Foods Market 15 oz. Organic Carrot Sticks and Whole Foods Market 15 oz. Organic Carrots & Celery with lot code(s) beginning with the letters “GH” followed by three digits ranging from 236–284 and best-if-sold-by dates from Sept. 1, 2024, to Oct. 19, 2024. These plastic clamshell-packed products have been sold since Sept. 1, 2024, online and at select U.S. retailers, including Whole Foods Market stores in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho and Nevada.
Consumers who have these items should not consume them and should either dispose of them securely or return them to the place of purchase for a refund or replacement; surfaces and containers that contacted the product should be cleaned and sanitized.
