Voluntary Recall of Select Great Value Organic Black Chia Seeds Due to The Possible Presence of Salmonella

Raleigh, N.C., May 10, 2024 — Natural Sourcing International has recalled one lot of Great Value Organic Black Chia Seeds (32 oz.) because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella, a bacterium that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems. Consumers should not eat the product and should stop using it immediately.

The recalled product is Great Value Organic Black Chia Seeds, 32 oz., lot code(s) 24095 C018 (UPC 078742300665), with an expiration date of October 30, 2026. The product has been sold since Sept. 15, 2023 online and at select U.S. retailers and was distributed nationwide through Walmart stores.

Consumers should dispose of or return the product to the place of purchase for a refund or request a replacement from Natural Sourcing International.
