Recall Details
Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Dakota Tom’s Sandwiches has voluntarily recalled three ready-to-eat sandwich products after an outside ingredient supplier, BrucePac, recalled burger patties because of possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recalled items present a risk of serious infection for pregnant women, newborns, the elderly and immunocompromised people; healthy individuals may experience fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Consumers who have purchased the affected sandwiches should stop eating them immediately and either discard them or return them for a refund.
The recall covers: Pepperjack Cheeseburger (lot code(s) not always printed; UPC 737296806008), Bacon Cheeseburger (lot code(s) not always printed; UPC 3729680300) and The Gambler (lot code(s) not always printed; UPC 737296601788), with Best‑By dates ranging Sept. 1, 2024 through Nov. 23, 2024. These sandwiches have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers — including grocery and convenience stores — in South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa and Wyoming since Sept. 15, 2024. Dakota Tom’s says no illnesses have been reported to date and that it is no longer using ingredients from the impacted BrucePac facility.
Consumers should not eat the products; they may discard them or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund, or contact Dakota Tom’s Sandwiches to request a replacement or refund. For questions or to report concerns, consumers may email [email protected]. If your purchase lacks a visible lot code, keep your receipt or packaging and check with the retailer for verification before disposal or return.
