MorningStar Farms Voluntarily Recalling Two Varieties Due to Possible Plastic Presence

Chicago, June 18, 2026 — MorningStar Farms has issued a voluntary recall of two frozen meat-alternative products in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Costa Rica because they may contain hard plastic pieces that pose a choking and physical injury hazard. Consumers are advised to stop using the products immediately and not to eat them.

The recall covers MorningStar Farms Buffalo Chik’n Nuggets (10.5 oz) with UPC 000 28989 10110 5, better-if-used-before dates July 07, 2027 and July 08, 2027; and MorningStar Farms Hot & Spicy Sausage Patties (8 oz) with UPC 000 28989 10094 8, better-if-used-before dates July 05, 2027, July 06, 2027 and July 07, 2027. These products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers since Sept. 15, 2025; no other MorningStar Farms products are included in this recall.
