Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Niitakaya USA Inc. of Montebello, Calif., has recalled its 5.2 ounce (147 g) packages of #3700 Shiso Katsuo Ninniku and #3701 Miso Katsuo Ninniku because the products may contain undeclared fish (bonito), creating a risk of serious or life‑threatening allergic reactions for consumers with fish allergies; consumers who are allergic to fish should stop using the products immediately and not eat them.

The affected items are sold in clear 5.2 ounce (147 g) plastic packages bearing the Niitakaya logo, with the Best By date printed on the top back of the package; the recall covers lot code(s) listed on the package Best By area. The products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers and through distributors and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025. Distribution has been suspended while the company investigates and corrects labeling.
