Recall Details
Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Giant Eagle, Inc. has recalled its Smoked Mozzarella Pasta Salad products because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause serious or fatal infections in vulnerable populations and can cause miscarriage in pregnant women. Consumers who purchased these products should not eat them and should stop using them immediately.
The recall covers Smoked Mozzarella Penne Salad in multiple sizes with the following lot code(s) and identifying information: UPC 256616000000 (varied weights, expiration dates Sept. 30, 2025–Oct. 7, 2025); Smoked Mozzarella Penne Salad — Small, UPC 246511000000 (4 lb 8 oz, expiration dates Sept. 30, 2025–Oct. 3, 2025); and Smoked Mozzarella Penne Salad — Large, UPC 246512000000 (9 lb, expiration dates Sept. 30, 2025–Oct. 3, 2025). These ready-to-eat pasta salads have been sold since Sept. 25, 2025 online and at select U.S. retailers, including Giant Eagle and Market District stores across western Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland and Indiana.
Consumers should dispose of the product or return it with a qualifying receipt to their local Giant Eagle or Market District for a refund; customers without a receipt should contact Giant Eagle Customer Care to determine eligibility for replacement or refund.
