Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. (Nasdaq: JBSS) has voluntarily recalled a range of branded snack mixes after a third‑party seasoning used in those products was linked to dry milk powder that is part of an ongoing California Dairies, Inc. recall. The company says the seasoning batches tested negative for Salmonella before use, but is recalling the finished products as a precaution because of potential Salmonella contamination. Consumers who have purchased the affected products should stop using them immediately and return them for a refund or replacement.

The recall covers Fisher, Squirrel Brand, Southern Style Nuts and Good & Gather™ labeled trail and nut mixes, identified by specific lot code(s), UPCs and best‑by dates. Notable examples include Fisher Tex Mex Trail Mix (JBSS item P27594, UPC 070690275941, best by 08/06/27); multiple Southern Style Nuts and Squirrel Brand Gourmet Hunter, Hunter and Travelers mixes with the listed JBSS item numbers and best‑by dates shown in retailer notices; and Good & Gather™ Mexican Street Corn Trail Mix (JBSS item 03572, UPC 085239270240, lot code 6082GY5D, best by 23/MAR/2027). These items have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025; consumers should consult store or company notices for the full list of affected lot code(s) and dates.

Consumers should not consume the products and may return them to the place of purchase for a full refund or replacement, or dispose of them following local waste guidelines. Those seeking reimbursement, replacement or additional information should contact John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. Customer Service toll‑free at (800) 874‑8734 Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Central Time, or email [email protected]; consumers should also check retailer websites for store‑specific return instructions. If you experience symptoms consistent with Salmonella infection, seek medical attention and mention possible exposure to recalled products.
