Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Albertsons Companies, in cooperation with supplier The J. M. Smucker Co., has issued a voluntary recall of 11 store-prepared peanut butter–containing deli items because of potential Salmonella contamination that could cause serious illness, especially in young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems. Consumers are advised not to eat these products and to stop using them immediately if they are in possession of the affected items.

The recalled items are identified by product name and corresponding lot code(s): Mini Peanut Butter Cream Pie (all lot code(s) with sell-thru dates up to May 26, 2022); Apples Sliced with Peanut Butter (all lot code(s) up to May 24, 2022); Celery & Peanut Butter Cup (all lot code(s) up to May 26, 2022); Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup (all lot code(s) up to July 20, 2022); Deli Snack Peanut Butter/Trail Mix Combo (all lot code(s) up to May 26, 2022); Grab & Go Apple & Celery Tray w/Peanut Butter (all lot code(s) up to May 24, 2022); Peanut Butter & Chocolate Filled Jumbo Cupcake (all lot code(s) up to May 26, 2022); ReadyMeals PB & Trail Mix Snack (all lot code(s) up to May 24, 2022); ReadyMeals Quad PB Apple Celery Pretzel (all lot code(s) up to May 24, 2022); ReadyMeals Quad PB Apple Pretzel Brownie (all lot code(s) up to May 24, 2022); and Scratch Pie Peanut Butter Cream 9in (all lot code(s) up to May 26, 2022). These items have been sold since May 2022 online and at select U.S. retailers under multiple banners including Albertsons, Safeway, Lucky, Haggen, Carrs-Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw’s and others in various states; consumers should check store receipts or packaging for lot code(s) and sell-thru dates to confirm whether their purchase is affected.

Consumers with affected products should dispose of them or return the items to the place of purchase for a full refund and may request a refund or replacement from the retailer.
