Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Sprout Organics has expanded a voluntary recall of its 3.5-ounce Sprout Organics® Sweet Potato Apple and Spinach pouches because routine testing has identified potentially elevated lead levels that could pose a health risk, particularly to young children; consumers should stop using the product immediately and not feed it to infants or children. The company says no illnesses have been reported to date and no other Sprout Organics products are included in this recall.
The recalled product is Sprout Organics® Sweet Potato Apple and Spinach, 3.5 oz pouch, with lot code(s) 4212 (Best By Oct292025), 4213 (Best By Oct302025), 4282 (Best By Dec042025) and 4310 (Best By Feb042026). The pouches have been sold online and at Walgreens and at independent retailers in AZ, CO, FL, ID, IL, IN, IA, MA, ME, MN, MS, MO, MT, NV, NH, NJ, NM, NY, NC, OH, OR, PA, RI, TX, UT, VT, WI and WY, and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025; they were not sold in other major national chains.
