Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Wiers Farm Inc. of Willard, Ohio, has expanded a recall of fresh produce because items may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause listeriosis. Consumers are advised to stop using the listed products immediately and not to eat them; anyone who has consumed the products and is experiencing symptoms such as fever, muscle aches, or gastrointestinal problems should seek medical attention. To date, no illnesses or consumer complaints have been reported in connection with this recall.

The recalled products include multiple retail and bulk items packed between July 5 and July 12, 2024; affected lot code(s) correspond to those packing dates. Retail packaged items include Wiers Farm bagged poblano (UPC 073064202581, 16 oz), bagged cubanelle (UPC 073064201836, 16 oz), bagged green beans (UPC 073064200846, variable weight), bagged salad cucumber (UPC 073064459619, 2 lb), bagged serrano (UPC 073064201829, 4 oz), and several organic 2-count trays (bell pepper UPC 073064201416; cucumber UPC 073064201423; yellow squash UPC 073064201447; zucchini UPC 073064201430) sold at select Walmart stores in CT, DE, IL, IN, KY, MD, MI, NJ, NY, OH, PA, VA and WV. Additional items sold at Aldi stores in KY, NY, OH, PA and WV include Freshire Farms bagged green beans (16 oz) and bagged jalapeños (8 oz). Bulk retail items sold individually or by the pound and included in the expansion include Anaheim, cubanelle, habanero, Hungarian wax, jalapeño, poblano and serrano peppers; green and bell peppers; cucumbers and pickling cucumbers; green beans; cilantro, plain parsley and mustard greens (sold in bunches); tomatillos; and mixed vegetable boxes shipped to Cleveland and Youngstown, Ohio food banks.

Consumers should dispose of or return recalled products to the place of purchase for a refund or request a replacement; if unsure whether a product is affected, they should check store or manufacturer notices.
