Recall Details
Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Twin Sisters Creamery of Ferndale, Wash., has recalled 2.5 lb. wheels of Whatcom Blue, Farmhouse, Peppercorn and Mustard Seed cheeses because the products may be contaminated with Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC), including E. coli O103, which can cause severe abdominal cramps, bloody diarrhea and life‑threatening complications such as hemolytic uremic syndrome in young children, elderly people and those with weakened immune systems. Consumers who have these cheeses should not eat them and should stop using them immediately; anyone who thinks they may be ill after consuming the product should seek medical attention.
The recalled products have the following lot code(s): Batch Code 250527B, 250610B, 250618B and 250624B for Whatcom Blue; Batch Code 250603F and 250616B for Farmhouse; Batch Code 250603P for Peppercorn; and Batch Code 250616M for Mustard Seed. These 2.5 lb. wheels were shipped to distributors in Oregon and Washington and may have been repacked or sold as pre-cut half‑moon pieces with different lot or expiration markings; they have been sold since July 27, 2025, online and at select U.S. retailers. The recall was initiated after third‑party, state and federal testing confirmed STEC and E. coli O103 in finished products, and three related illnesses have been reported in Oregon and Washington.
Consumers should dispose of or return recalled product to the place of purchase for a full refund and should clean and sanitize any surfaces or utensils that came into contact with the cheese. To request a refund or replacement, or for questions not addressed here, consumers may contact Twin Sisters Creamery by email at [email protected] or by phone at 360‑656‑5240, Tuesday–Saturday, 11 a.m.–5 p.m. PT.
