Western Mixers Produce & Nuts, Inc. Recalls Yogurt Covered Pretzels Because of Possible Health Risk

Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Western Mixers Produce & Nuts, Inc. of Ontario, Calif., has recalled its Yogurt Covered Pretzels because the yogurt coating may be contaminated with Salmonella, a bacteria that can cause fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and more serious infections in vulnerable people. Consumers are urged to stop using the product immediately and not eat it; those who believe they are ill after consumption should seek medical attention and mention possible Salmonella exposure.

The recall covers Yogurt Covered Pretzels sold in plastic containers and bulk packaging with the following lot code(s): Smart & Final / First Street Brand, 6 oz and 15 oz — lot code(s) 241091, 241161, 241241; Gelson’s Brand, 15 oz — lot code(s) 241062; Down Home Goods bulk, 14 lb — lot code(s) 241010; Thorp Fruit bulk, 14 lb — lot code(s) 241010. The products have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025, online and at select U.S. retailers in California, including Thorp Fruit, Down Home Goods, Smart & Final and Gelson’s stores. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Consumers should dispose of or return affected products to the place of purchase for a refund or request a replacement from the company. Western Mixers has ceased production and distribution while FDA and the company investigate the source of contamination.
