YoCrunch® Products Voluntarily Recalled by Danone U.S. Due to Potential Presence of Plastic Pieces in Dome Topper

Raleigh, N.C., July 14, 2025 — Danone U.S. has voluntarily recalled YoCrunch® yogurt products sold at retail nationwide because plastic pieces have been found in the separately packaged dome toppers, posing a choking hazard; consumers should stop using the toppers and do not eat them immediately. The company says the plastic pieces are transparent, may have sharp edges and range from about 7 to 25 mm, and the issue affects only the topper, not the yogurt itself. The recall, initiated July 11, 2025 in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, is intended to remove potentially impacted product from store shelves and protect consumers while the company addresses the root cause.

The recall applies to all YoCrunch® flavors and pack sizes currently in market; affected products have multiple lot code(s) and UPCs. Examples include YOCRUNCH STRAW W/GRANOLA 6OZ (lot code(s): 2025.07.07, 2025.07.12, 2025.07.26, 2025.08.03, 2025.08.08, 2025.08.19, 2025.08.22, 2025.08.30, 2025.09.04) and YOCRUNCH VANILLA W/M&M 6OZ (lot code(s): 2025.07.11, 2025.07.14, 2025.07.25, 2025.08.07, 2025.08.11, 2025.08.22, 2025.08.26, 2025.09.03); full lot code(s) lists are available from the company. Impacted YoCrunch® products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers and have been sold since July 7, 2025; consumers should check product labels for the lot code(s) and UPC to determine if their purchase is included.
