6. Jerky

Jerky may be a yummy, high-protein snack, but lots of jerkies on the market are actually highly processed. Like other processed meats, jerky has been linked to increased risk of developing colorectal cancer.

Recent research suggests that eating processed meats increases a person's risk for colorectal cancer. Inconsistent evidence has linked consumption of processed meats to other gastrointestinal cancers, breast, and prostate cancers.
