Greek yogurt was originated in Greece?
Greek yogurt is distinguished from regular yogurt by its thick consistency. But why is it called Greek yogurt? Yogurt company based in Greece Fage was the first to describe their product as Greek. The practice was later popularized in the U.S. by a Turkish entrepreneur through his company Chobani. On the other hand, not all yogurt in Greek is as thick as "Greek yogurt" in the States. The thick ones in Greece are called "strained yogurt".
