Wild salmon's essential omega-3 fatty acids are very beneficial for your hypothalamus, the part of the brain that controls body temperature, hunger, and thirst. When you undergo heat exhaustion and dehydration, your body won't be able to release heat through perspiration if the hypothalamus cannot function properly. Therefore, if you keep your hypothalamus strong prior to such a potential heat-stricken episode, your symptoms may be much less severe.
